How is REPT345 same size as LF280K?

How is REPT accumulating more capacity in the same form factor

The answer is simpler than you may think, whilst there is likely some black magic going on with chemical mixes, the most obvious answer is space utilization.

The drawing on the left is an EVE LF280K V3 internal winding layout, there are two traditional windings in parallel, the drawing on the right is the REPT 345AH - four more compact windings in parallel.

As you can see, the void space on the EVE cell is much larger, REPT has improved their winding technology to decrease this void space by approx. 50% - measured.

If the Z stacking or sheet stacking technique was used instead of windings, then space utilization would be even higher, there is a compromise on cost to be had though, traditional winding's are fast to manufacture, and very mature, however the stacking techniques will likely be adopted by most cell manufacturers in the near future.

REPT has seemingly made a very smart decision here, utilizing more void space while not having to completely replace manufacturing lines worth hundreds of millions.

This was quite fascinating to me, that the answer was seemingly simple and kind of boring, but at the same time incredible
