No, Its not a boat or a ship
Although that's what Soph saw the moment I showed her the rendering
This is a new tool I have designed as we continue to elevate our manufacturing quality.
This tool will form an integral part of a new process of assembly that will be adopted in the very near future for several of our battery packs.
This tool is designed to compress our cell blocks to our cell manufacturers optimal compression force, with the intention of prolonging the usable lifespan of your battery pack beyond what is currently available on the market.
It has not come without its drawbacks however, the added length gained by the use of the compression plates does not leave enough room in the standard ABS battery case we have previously used, so I have had to redesign the lower half of of the case from steel in order to gain the extra millimeters needed.
The striking lime green Nz Lithium lid will still be utilized.
What we build at Nz Lithium is not a Chinese designed kitset that we just put together like a Meccano set, the designs and process's are our own, you will not find them anywhere but here.
Sure, we could assemble a kitset in NZ that is mass produced in China, but would that really make us any different than an importer selling a mass produced pre assembled battery?
It will be something we offer in the next shipment in a 48v form to cover a broader customer base, but we will be explicitly labeling it as a Chinese designed and manufactured product, and it will of course be a more cost effective option, because we did not have to spend the countless hours designing and fabricating the end product here in NZ.
